Neuroimagining: fMRI and MEG

Researchers are increasingly aware of the benefits of simultaneously recording gaze while acquiring fMRI and MEG data. Eye tracking allows researchers to monitor participant engagement and task-compliance, track and control for potentially confounding factors such as saccades, microsaccades and blinks, and employ advanced analytical techniques such as fixation-related (FIRE) fMRI. In addition, eye tracking allows stimulus presentation during scans to be controlled in a gaze-contingent manner, greatly increasing the range of perceptual and cognitive operations that can be explored.

  • Outstanding spatial accuracy
    • EyeLink systems average accuracy in the scanner environment is between 0.25-0.5 visual angle.
    • This is an order of magnitide more accurate than any other MRI eye-tracker.

    • A simple "Point, Focus, Click" procedure between subjects ensures that scanning time is not wasted.

      • 4D, CTF, Elekta Neuromag and other MEGs
  • Unobtrusive: A long range mount supports camera-to-eye distances of 60 - 150 cm with non-visible infrared possible.

    • Experiment Builder, our own experiment delivery software, is an intuitive graphical programming environment that is simple for novice users to learn quickly, yet sophisticated enough to handle advanced experimental paradigms.
  • EyeLink Data Viewer
    • EyeLink Data Viewer allows visualization, filtering, and processing of gaze data recorded with EyeLink eye trackers. Researchers can create interest areas, dynamic heatmaps, time series analyses, and very quickly derive key measures such as dwell time and average fixation duration.
